Under no circumstances should you try to troubleshoot your residential electrical system on your own. You should call an electrician whenever you have an electrical problem, both for your personal safety and so that your home's electrical system remains up to current safety standards.
We check the properties electrical installation to ensure it comes up to current safety standards. A number of faults which can occur that are not visible are;
A visual check is made of light switches, sockets etc.. to see if there is any physical or thermal damage.
We will also check there is RCD protection over any circuits that operate electrics in bathrooms & gardens.
EICR inspections need to be carried out every 5 years. However, there can be a change of tenancy during this period. The landlord has a responsibility to ensure that the electrics are still safe for the next tenant. A visual inspection can be carried out by a competent person who is willing to sign that the electrics are in a safe condition.
If you choose to have this Visual Inspection carried out by an electrician, you will receive a certificate to show that the electrics where checked and signed off as safe. Providing the landlord with peace of mind.
